about
In October of 2009, Monica Hay Cook and her sister, Marlies Hay William, opened Deco. They recently moved the store into Ignite Sign Art Museum. The store has an eclectic mix of unique items with a focus on local Tucson art, neon jewelry, including initials in jewelry, salvaged letters for home and office decor. You will find miniatures, cards and magnets of local signs.
Monica, a former teacher, loves to find fun and educational items to sell at Deco. She's written several books (see Books) and has recently received her "Nature Illustration Certificate" from Arizona Sonora Desert Museum's Art Institute.
Marlies, formerly the retail manager at The Bead Museum, Glendale, Arizona, has a background in jewelry making. She creates and sells unique jewelry within the store and on-line (see Necklaces). She frequently wears her jewelry while working, so don't be afraid to ask about her creations.
Moreover, you can create your own "one-of-a kind" jewelry by purchasing beads and taking one of our jewelry making classes.
